The holidays, although a break from the everyday chaos of life, is also a time I find there to be less routine in my house. The kids go to bed later, get up later in the morning and really spend their days enjoying the break from school. While the break from routine is good for all of us, I do find that a few days before the break is over, it is time to get back to a routine, so that we are all refreshed and ready to start the next part of the year.
Having a regular routine is especially important in my house. Having 5 kids, a house to maintain and a blog to run, a routine is the one thing that helps ensure our sanity. Our day starts at 7 a.m. and by the time homework and after-school things are done and we eat dinner, we don’t get the little ones in the bath until 6:30-6:45 p.m. I find that giving the younger ones a nightly bath helps them to relax, unwind and even have a little bit of fun in the tub before bedtime.
II have always used JOHNSON’S® in my house. They are products I remember from my childhood, so it was an easy choice for my children. I mean, even my 9-year-old still uses it because I know that it is gentle on his sensitive skin and he suffers from eczema — even more so in the dry winter months. I love the JOHNSON’S® HEAD-TO-TOE™ baby wash as I can use just one product to wash their tiny little toes and it’s gentle enough to clean their hair too. Because it’s tear-free, there’s no crying in the tub. Once we are out and all dried up, I always apply JOHNSON’S® head-to-toe baby lotion to their skin. Winter is so harsh on all our skin that I even use it on myself at night. Also, Toby loves when I massage the cream in after bath time; it’s a special little time we have had since he was born. This whole routine helps get my boys ready for sleep and makes bath time a special time for all the younger kids.
Did you know that baby’s skin is 30% thinner than yours? Their skin also needs extra protection from harsh cleansers and environmental changes, so using JOHNSON’S® on my little one makes sense because it’s gentle and even has moisturizers that help keep their skin protected.
I love that they also have the JOHNSON’S® HEAD-TO-TOE™ baby washcloths, which I have in my diaper bag. They are perfect for on-the-go cleaning with the gentleness and quality I trust from JOHNSON’S® products. I use them for messy after dinner clean-ups before we head to the bath because there is nothing worse than having yucky spaghetti hands touch you everywhere as you carry them up to the bathtub. They are also good for when life just gets in the way and we aren’t able to follow our regular bedtime routine because we are out. They were especially handy over the holidays when visiting family.
You can get all the JOHNSON’S® HEAD-TO-TOE™ products at most major retailers and drugstores.
