It is always exciting to add a new member to your family and even though your new little bundle of joy may not really be old enough to actively get excited for their first Christmas, that doesn’t mean that you as parents shouldn’t. In fact, there is nothing wrong with starting traditions and creating memories now, because it is never too early to celebrate your baby’s first Christmas. Even when my first baby was born, on Christmas Day, we still celebrated her first Christmas, just in the hospital.
Make Your Own Christmas Cards
It has been proven that parents love to show off pictures of their children every chance they get. Now is the perfect time to get a photo Christmas card done and send it off to all your family and friends. Bonus points if your little one is dressed up like an elf! You can also save a card for yourself and keep it in a scrapbook.
Get Santa Pictures Done
Some babies will love Santa, and some not so much but these memories are just too good to forgo! Your child’s first visit with Jolly old St. Nick will be something to treasure forever. and maybe even laugh about years down the line when you show your now older child a picture of their first Santa visit.
Do The Christmas Pajama Thing
Nothing is cuter than your squishy little baby in adorable Christmas footie pajamas on Christmas morning. This will make great pictures! Bonus points if the entire family has on matching ones.
Buy or DIY a Keepsake Ornament
Having an ornament with a picture of your baby and the year of their first Christmas is an amazing way to commemorate the event. Not only does it look great on the tree, but the ornament can be packaged away for your child to put on the tree every year when they are old enough.
There are so many ways to celebrate your baby’s first Christmas and there is no reason you shouldn’t. Merry Christmas to you and your new baby this year!
