As a busy mom of 5 who also works from home, finding those moments are so difficult. I try so hard to remember that I need a little me time especially when I am being pulled in a thousand directions but I can’t always just drop everything and do what I want to do. I have spent countless hours coming up with clever ways to “sneak” in some time to keep my sanity and some of those things include saying I am going to the bathroom only to read a few things on Facebook or watch a few minutes of the Suits episode I have been dying to see the rest of. I feel like sometimes watching one complete show on Netflix can take a week when I am just sneaking it in.
The two times I sneak my Netflix shows are when I go for a long soak in the tub (which literally happens maybe once a month) and the other is when I am putting my little one to bed since we co-sleep, I can cuddle and catch up while he falls asleep (I am grateful for the IPad because I watch Netflix and write posts while putting little one to sleep).
I think this little bit of me time is important to keep me being the best mom, wife, and human I can be. I think we all need a little bit of time to ourselves whether you are a mom, a dad, or have no kids at all, finding time to decompress and unwind is important.
Canuck moms have spoken: 95% of moms say that they had more time for themselves before motherhood, and now, over half (58%) admit to sneaking in TV “me-time” while juggling a busy schedule, with some even hiding from their kids for just a moment of peace. With moms doing it anywhere and everywhere in the neighbourhood when the kids aren’t around, sneaking is the new bingeing.
How do you find the time? Do you sneak in time for yourself to keep your sanity with Netflix or something else?
Disclosure: I am part of the Netflix #StreamTeam and I get to bring you great information about them all the time, however, my opinion is always my own
