Disclosure: I was given the Soothing Motions Seat and Space Saver High-Chair from Fisher Price to facilitate this review of feeding and fun for the Baby Must Have List. All opinions are my own.
Over the years I have had several different gadgets and gizmos especially having 5 children. After my first baby and the learning curve of being a new mom, I thought I knew what worked and what didn’t or so I thought. I had no idea that what worked for one baby could be a complete disaster for the next. I have had swings and bouncers and chairs and exersaucers. While my first baby hated all things that I had for her, her brother loved them all. This little guy pretty much hates everything but bouncing in our arms and sleeping on us except the soothing motions seat.
I think he likes it because it feels the same way it does when we bounce and sway him. He also really likes the rainforest sounds as well. I love that it doesn’t take batteries like some of my other swings and gadgets and can be plugged into a wall. I love that it also has quite a few settings as well. So how fast or slow he sways back and forth and how fast or slow he moves up and down. You can use both motions together or separately, there are 10 songs and nature sounds, as well as vibration. The seat has 2 seat position recline that allows baby to lie flat or inclined a little. It also has a mobile of 3 colourful toys and a mirror so baby can see themselves. My only con about this whole system is that the mobile doesn’t move or turn and my little guy gets bored looking at it.
Take a peek at the little video I took of him in the seat:
If you are looking for a really great seat to help soothe baby, this one is a great choice and why I chose it as part of my Baby Must Have list.
My biggest pet peeve when it comes to high chairs is the size. I already have a large family and then add in a really large high chair in my already tiny kitchen, and well you are left with very little space and moving in my kitchen becomes a pain. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the features that some of the larger high chairs offer, however, I just don’t have the space to have one in my dining area. Thankfully, Fisher Price has got me covered with the space saver high chair. It has several key features that the larger, bulkier chairs over without the bulk or large size. Little man can sit comfortably in it while we eat dinner as it has 3 position recline so he can lay back now while he isn’t able to sit up and upright for when he is ready to start solids.
The easy one-hand removable tray built-in cup holder has a Fastfinder Link, so you can hang bibs, towels and toys within easy reach. I love that it is dishwasher safe as well. It comes with a 5-point harness system that keeps him nice and safe while in the seat as well and is fully adjustable to fit even his chunky little bum. It straps easily and securely to any kitchen chair and also 2 height adjustments making it conveniently fit any table as it will grow with him well into the toddler years. The biggest and best feature has to be the removable seat cover that is spill and stain resistant thanks to the Nano-Tex fabric as we all know how messy babies and toddlers can be when eating. Gosh even my older kids are still messy.
The Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair is perfect for my small space and takes care of all the big needs and is why it’s also part of the Baby Must Have list.
