Today marks the 12th year of becoming a mother. The child of all the struggles to get pregnant all culminating on the best day of the year. She was the best Christmas present anyone could have given me. She made me a mother and I could not be more proud of the young woman she is becoming and today we celebrate her birthday. How the heck do I even have a 12-year-old? For that matter my middle son turned 7 only 9 days ago as well so December is most definitely a very busy month for us. We celebrated his birthday last week as well with cake and family.
My 7-year-old has grown so much in the last year. He is such a great help around the house and he loves to be with us all the time. He loves to colour and draw and he is happiest when he is just snuggling with one of us. I love that he still likes to watch movies and cuddle. He is such a joy to be around and sometimes too sensitive but I am thankful that he is still just mommy’s little boy.
Today we celebrate Christmas and the birth of the child that made me a mother. I can’t believe she is 12 today. Almost a tween, almost a teenager (although she acts like one already) and I can’t believe that 12 years has passed since the struggles I had to have her. I couldn’t be more proud of the young lady she is becoming and of the choices she is making in her young life. I am blessed with the beautiful lives I have helped create and today I give thanks that I am allowed to be their mother.
So today I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I also wish my oldest, my only daughter a very happy 12th birthday. I hope that all you wishes come true today and always and that your days are always filled with lots of love and joy!
